Beta · Effective 2 October 2026
Terms of Service
openpack is in beta. It is an early version that we are still building. It is provided as it is, without any guarantee: it may have bugs, be unavailable, change or lose data, and features may change or end without notice. Export any ride you want to keep. Ride within your limits: this is real exercise.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and [operator name] (“openpack”, “we”, “us”) for your use of openpack, the indoor cycling game at this website, its servers and related apps (the “Service”). By using the Service, as a guest or with an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Beta: no guarantees
The Service is a beta. Specifically:
- It is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or free of errors, or that any defect will be fixed.
- Features, routes, plans, limits and game rules may change, be reset or be removed at any time, with or without notice.
- Your data, including saved rides, progress, segment times and settings, may be lost or reset. Keep your own copy of anything important: you can download each ride as a FIT file.
- Numbers the game shows (speed, distance, climbing, energy, W/kg, times, rankings) are estimates from a simulation and from your devices. They may be inaccurate, and they are not a basis for any decision about your health.
- We may limit, suspend or end the beta, or any part of it, at any time.
3. Exercise and safety
- Cycling on a trainer is strenuous physical exercise. Talk to a doctor before you start a new exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have been inactive. Stop immediately if you feel pain, faintness, dizziness or shortness of breath.
- openpack is a game, not medical advice and not a medical device. Training plans, workouts and targets are general and not tailored to your health.
- When you let openpack control a smart trainer, the game changes the resistance by itself (to simulate hills, drafting or workout targets). Set up and use your trainer, bike and devices as their manufacturers instruct, on a stable surface, with enough space and cooling, and keep children and pets away from moving parts.
- Never use openpack while cycling outdoors or in traffic.
- You ride at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for injury or damage arising from your exercise or your equipment.
4. Who can use it, and your account
- You can ride without an account. To create an account you must be at least 16 years old and able to agree to these terms.
- Use an email address you control. You are responsible for what happens through your account and for keeping access to your email and Google account secure. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- One account per person. Don't sell, share or transfer accounts.
5. Fair play and acceptable use
You agree not to:
- cheat: send falsified power, speed or other data, use automation or bots to ride for you, or manipulate races, segment boards or progress;
- use a rider name that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, impersonates someone else, or infringes someone's rights, or harass other riders;
- upload route files you don't have the right to use, or content that is unlawful or harmful;
- interfere with the Service: overload it, probe or break its security, get around its limits, scrape it, or access it by automated means other than the documented interfaces, except with our written permission;
- use the Service in breach of any law.
We may remove times, results, names or routes, and suspend or close accounts, that break these rules or put the Service or other riders at risk.
6. Your content
Your rides, routes you import or draw, and your rider name remain yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display them only as needed to run, secure and improve the Service, for example to show your rider and times to other riders, to let riders you share a route with ride it, and to send rides to apps you connect. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other riders already received in a ride, and for what the law requires us to keep.
7. Free and paid plans
Riding as a guest and the free account are free of charge, with the limits shown in the game (for example how long rides are kept). We may change these limits. Paid plans, if and when we offer them, will show their price, what they include and any extra terms before you pay; nothing is charged without your explicit purchase.
8. Other services
The Service works with services we don't control, such as Google sign-in, Strava, intervals.icu, map, elevation and routing services, and your device makers' Bluetooth apps. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
9. Our property
The Service, its software, game design, artwork, names and logos belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service as offered, nothing more. Parts of the Service use open-source software and openly licensed assets under their own licences.
10. Ending
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in Profile → Account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we end the Service or the beta. Sections 2, 3, 6 (for copies already shared), 9, 11, 12 and 14 survive the end of these terms.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, rides, progress, profits, goodwill or opportunity, arising from or related to the Service or these terms, even if we were told it could happen. Our total liability for all claims related to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 euros.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
13. Changes to these terms
As the beta evolves we will update these terms. We post every change here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, tell signed-in riders in the game before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, stop using it and delete your account.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [country], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the courts of [country], unless the mandatory law of the country where you live as a consumer gives you the right to bring them where you live. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve it.
15. General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term, we don't give up the right to later. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them to whoever operates the Service after us. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
